OK, so the ending of this blog isn't a "death". But after careful consideration (and lots of shopping) I've decided that it's time to say goodbye. I'm off to college and I've realized that with that workload I can't give this blog the attention needed. It was a great year and I loved meeting new bloggers, posting and going from the bottom of the ladder to ,well I hope, somewhere near the top. Maybe I'll post randomly, maybe I won't. Don't worry you wont die without me: just buy a new dress and go out dancing and you'll forget all about it.

No, I'm not leaving you. Well, at least not permanently. But sadly to say, this summer, for four to five weeks, you'll have to do without Cool Like Chloe, and its witty yet oh so fashionable posts. I know, I know: how will you survive? Just know that every time your mulling over the fact that I'm gone I'll probably be thinking about you too ... well not really. I'll probably be too busy shopping. In Europe! Ha! Prada, Chanel, Valentino... Here I come!

So enough of that ranting, off to the post. And by the way though I so kindly appreciate people "tagging" me or whatever it's called i have already said enough about myself in this post. Now you wouldn't want to know all of my secrets...

On my last post I received a bunch of great and opinionated comments (glad to hear that I inspired Bojana's post ♥ ) and one request. A poor reader by the clever name of anonymous asked for a favour. And her favour inspired a new blog post:

I love your blog! This is great for summer but what if your going away somewhere? I'm leaving for a trip in two weeks and I have no idea what to pack or bring on the plane. I'm visiting Paris - yay! Have any tips?

First of all, I want to say that you're one lucky bitch for going to Paris. Maybe I'll see you there; just look for a really well dressed gorgeous girl. Now on to packing - this is my least favourite part of going away but at least if you don't have something you get to go shopping! To start off every person needs a few basics for the summer. A flirty dress, classic shorts, flowy tops and unique accessories. Have a few basic pieces that you love and then spice things up with really colourful shoes, purses or bracelets.

1. Dresses: Whether its solid or patterned this summer all you really need is a sundress (well, that and everything in the last post) . It can be easily dressed up from the beach (canvas bag, flats) to going to a fancy restaurant (sparkly clutch and high heels). (Oh and no matter how funny you think it is DO NOT order escargot. Trust me...) Make sure that you have a dress in a bright and colourful print if your going to the beach or somewhere hot.

2. Tops: Think of Nicole Richie a la Summer 2005. Shirts and blouses in chiffon, silk and cotton are perfect for day or night. 3.Bags: They big bag trend still hasn't died down (thank god) so opt for a stylish leather bag in neutral creams. Or if you have a white sundress on then bring along a colourful bag or clutch.

4. Shoes: The only things you'll need on your feet this summer are flats, gladiators and high heels (preferably ones with red bottoms)

5. Bottoms: This summer I'm living in my jeans. No matter how hot it gets. But if you manage to start dying of heat stroke then denim cutoffs and tailored shorts are the way to go. And no, nobody wears denim minis in Paris.

6. Accessories: The only thing that you really need to make your outfit is jewellery. If you're going to ignore all my fabulous suggestions and end up wearing, god forbid, a denim skirt with a tank top (I can't even think of it) then at least brighten it up with a head scarf and mountain loads of bangles. Rachel Zoe didn't make Lindsay and Nicole into fashion icons when she put them in tank tops and denim minis, did she?

I must say I'm getting quite emotional. This whole summer spent in Europe....what will I buy? But seriously, I'll miss you guys and your sometimes nice sometimes nasty comments. Bye, Au revoir, Arrivederci, Ciao and Dovidenja! (use a dictionary)

Surviving the Summer

School's out (god, I always get that song stuck in my head) and a summer of shopping, parties and the beach lies ahead. The only problem is, the front of every good store is covered with tourists. Much love to you guys, but it's pretty hard to walk into Bergdorfs with a hundred people staring and taking pictures.

So, being the nice person that I always am ;) I decided to compile a list of all the things you need to survive the long hot days of summer, whether you're vacationing in the overplayed Hampton's or staying in the city.

1. A Boyfriend - This applies to both settings. IF you don't have one, get one (preferably one by the name of Channing Tatum). They're especially useful when you don't feel like carrying your latest purchases (those SAK's bags get quite heavy!)

2. A Swimsuit - You don't actually swim in them - duh. They're more for show and tell.

If you're staying in the city then you're a far way from the beach. All the more reason to buy yourself a sexy classic swimsuit. Grab the latest copy of Vogue, sunscreen and lounge by your rooftop pool. If you don't have one, find a friend who does and claim you need to "bond".

Steer clear of black and metallics at the beach. This is the only time of year when you can wear more than 500 colours so buy a nice new Pucci swimsuit.

3. Long Flowing Locks - Put away the hair straightener and stop torturing your poor hair. Straight hair can't stand the humidity. Plus you save extra time by just rolling out of bed with waves a la Gisele Bundchen.

4. Head Scarves - If the wavy hair thing doesn't work out then tie up that hair in a multicoloured silk scarf. If there's no chance of you shelling out $1000 for Hermes then vintage is the way to go.

5. Summer Reads - After a year of physics textbooks I can finally read something with a bit of substance ;)

6. A New Pair of Christian Louboutin's - For all those fabulous parties your invited to

7. Ipod - Download Mika, old-school Britney and Young Love. Trust me.

Just follow these rules, and insert parties and shopping sprees in between. This way you'll never ever have a sitting-on-the-couch-eating-Hagen-Daaz-Laguna-Beach re-run day.

Karl's Club

With the recent showing of Karl Lagerfelds Chanel line in star studded LA the front row changed from french singers Charlotte Gainsbourg and Princess Caroline, to former pop group princess Victoria "Posh" Beckham and drug addled Lindsay Lohan. Everyone loves the Kaiser but just how much do his LA fans love him? A bit too much as many celebs and it girls were noticed commiting a fashion crime: the copycat.

Everyone from Lindsay Lohan to Ashley Olsen were caught in full on Karl gear - the leather gloves, black and white clothes and tinted glasses.

Lindsay went for the slutty-drug addicted Karl, Ashley tryed out a more androgynous Karl with the short black skirt and mens jacket, whereas Mary-Kate went for full on Halloween Karl in feathers and metal corset. Who do you think wore it best?

So you wanna be Karl Lagerfeld? Skip the ten year stays at Fendi and Chloe and fifty pound weight loss - just dress like him. All you need is:

1. An entire wardrobe of black, white and leather

2. Platinum blonde hair

3. Shades so dark that you can't see anything (although pretend that you can)

4. Karl Lagerfelds CD (You didn't know he had one!?)

5.Leather Gloves

5. Pursed Wrinkly Lips (The wrinkly part is optional)

The Two That Model Together Stick Together

Kate Moss and Pete Doherty's will separately star in Roberto Cavalli's men's and women's fall ad campaigns reports WWD. Both were shot separately by Mert Alum and Marcus Piggott in Ibiza."Kate Moss and Pete Doherty perfectly embody everything that's contemporary and they're poetic, creative and wild," said Cavalli. "They go against mainstream and have an innate and fantastic sense of style." In other words, this fall when you flip through your latest issue of Vogue (Paris!) and W you'll not only see the average stick thin Eastern European it-model but also fashion and rock and roll's perfect couple. Dare I say sexiest? ... no that goes to Iman and David Bowie.

First off I would like to say a few things. The reason that my posting cycle is crap is because of exams and summatives. But I promise that when they're over I will come back with tons of posts. Secondly, thanks for all of the opinionated and great comments I recieved on my last post. It was great to read what you all thought. Thanks also for all of the people who come to read this blog and comment on my work. There, I'm done with my rant. On to the post!

Lately the fashion radar has switched from strong and sexy to innocent and girly. With the exit of Tom Ford from fashion house Gucci, Phoebe Philo and Marc Jacobs helped usher in a new woman. One that didn't need bronzing cream wherever she went and who's favourite pastime was picking flowers in a field, not going out dancing every night.

But has our good girl image gone so extreme that showing a little skin is considered unfashionable. Today's style masters are decidedly "unsexy".

Sure, they do manage to wear dresses and short shorts once in a while but their signature style is floaty, girly and simple. Sienna Miller ushered in a new phase of thinking back in 2004 with her bohemian chic style that changed the way designers and every other girl looked at themselves. Then there are Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen who went from bubble-gum sweet matching dresses and introduced themselves, and many others to leggings, flannel and layers.

The model has evolved as well. It went from the supers (Naomi, Linda) to the ultimate waif(Kate) then to the Brazilian bombshells (Gisele) and right now if your Eastern European and have about one percent body fat you are the model of the moment. Either way I love the way fashion is evolving. I'd much rather wear a Chloe shift dress with flats then tight acid wash jeans and gold hoops. Although Gucci is pretty good for a night out....

War Of The Vogues

Lately I've been brushing up on my French. And no it's not because I'm moving to France and abandoning New York (although that would be a fun idea), it's because one of my all time favourite magazines lately... well, to put it nicely sucks. Because of this, I've traded in my Vogue for Vogue Paris.

American Vogue is the most influential magazine in the entire world yet lately, all Anna Wintour does is smack some over-exposed celebrity on the cover. Hello? Vogue is a fashion magazine meaning it should showcase the best designers and models. Whatever happened to Daria and Gisele? Vogue Paris, on the other hand screams originality. Carine Roitfeld, the sexy editor-in-chief of Vogue Paris, manages to create fresh issues with stunning editorials (see post below) and gorgeous muses (Lara Stone anyone?). For those of you who are fashion-illiterate Anna's the one with the bob and Carine has the eyebrows.
The one thing that bugs me the most though is that every month the same old celebrity is recycled for the cover. Nicole Kidman has been on a gazillion covers along with Reese and Renee. Seriously, who cares anymore?

For instance, compare these two editorials. There's the Vogue model editorial (which I was extremely dissapointed with) where the top models were set against grey backgrounds in mediocre clothes. Creative huh? Then you have Vogue Paris with the amazing styling of Emmanuell Alt and Carine Roitfeld with gorgeous lighting and colours.

So what about you, dear readers?

Will you stick with your old Vogues or switch to Vogue Paris?

R.I.P. Anna Wintour?

Ok, I know people hate the frosty Vogue editor for various reasons (who really needs all that fur in 40 degrees?) but I didn't know that people hate her this much. After grabbing a Starbucks latte and settling in front of the computer screen I was shocked to read that the devil herself, Mrs. Anna Wintour, could have been murdered. Serial killer Peter Braunstein ,a former writer at WWD who lost his job for complaining of only getting one ticket to the Vogue Fashion Awards, planned to kill the editor of American Vogue in "upclose and personal". When asked why he responded: "So I'll tell you why I'm going to kill Anna Wintour -- because I just feel like it."

I dont know whats more horrifying: the fact that a man would want to do something so sick like this, or how Vogue would look without Anna Wintour.

Your Guide To Mother's Day

It's mother's day soon and how else could we thank our loving mothers other than to spend money on them lavishly? Every year I get stumped for presents but I must admit this list is a wide selection to choose from. Hmm, another Birkin? Maybe grab the private jet and whisk off to Paris? Or maybe I should give my mom everything; These gifts will last for the next ten mother's days and maybe even Christmases!

You can never go wrong with a Hermes Birkin. Who cares if it's over $10,000 and there's a ten year waiting list! After all, it is your mom.

Another classic is Chanel No. 5, which won't break the piggy bank and is sure to be put into good use.
For all of the princesse's and heiresses out there feel free to "borrow" the private jet and whisk off to chic Paris. You'r mom will get to shop while you check out the cute french boys!

For the girls with mom's who are lawyers or spend hours at work the Prada LG phone is perfect. An organizer, phone and internet all in one. Hmm, maybe they'll have a two for one deal...

Or if you live in the middle of suburbia you should get a gorgeous gardener. It will spice things up a bit and you'r mom will feel like a bonafide desperate housewife.

I swear by Chantecaile Les Rose Palettes. Besides, flowers wilt in a day but these roses will last.

A classic New York mother's day would be to spend the day shopping in you'r newly bought Louboutins...
... eat dinner for two at Le Cirque....... and top the night off with a musical.

For those of you on a much more modest budget try a makeup kit with all of you'r mom's favourites. It's thoughtful and useful. If you'r not sure what to get these are my mom's and mine favourite: Neutrogena Mineral Sheers Foundation (a gorgeous shine and very cheap), Chanel Lumieres Eye Shadow palette (high fashion in you'r makep kit), Clinique lipglosses (for lush, full lips) and Estee Lauder mascara (for sex-kitten eyes).
If you'r even tighter on budget then go with this tried-and-true formula. Popcorn and a movie (preferably one with Audrey Hepburn).

ANTM - They Finally Got It Right

America's Next Top Model is one of my guilty pleasures. I know, I know none of these girls will be the next Kate or Gemma and have no chance of gracing the cover of Vogue, but this show is my weekly dose of catfights, funny girls and photoshoots. Lately though, the photoshoots have been seriously lacking...

Season One started off with beautiful, artsy shots that could be in the pages of Vogue and W. The snake theme in the fourth episode was gorgeous and the final black and white shots with the top two contestants Adrienne and Shannon, shot by Tyra herself, were stunning.

As the seasons progressed the show became tackier and more show-ey. My theory is that the network had a ton of cash and had to blow it on something. The show got so low that in the last couple of seasons they went from advertising Steve Madden shoes to Payless shoes. And the photoshoots got tackier and more outrageous each episode. The worst ones so far? Season 5's "Fashion Police" shoot where the girls got chased by Ms. Jay and this season's "Reunion" episode where old contestants shot with the new. The reunion shoot could have ended up ok but nooo they had to treat the pictures like cartoon strips. Oh, and they also added bubbles with quotes such as "I didn't steal your granola bar, bee-yotch". Classy.

So when I tuned in this week I had lost all hope for the shoot. For all I knew, they would be doing a commercial for McDonald's decked out in Walmart "haute couture". However, when I heard that Tyra was shooting I perked up a bit. Maybe it wasn't going to be so bad? Then I waited and watched and was floored by this weeks results. The shoot was done at an Australian beach in swimwear (which thank the fashion god's wasn't tacky), and was divided up into two sections (woman's magazine and men's magazine). When I heard that their was to be a shoot for a men's magazine I almost changed the channel but I was glad that I didn't because the end results were gorgeous. The lighting, poses, and guys (drool) were spectacular. (Just to note, the fact that this shoot was gorgeous does not change my mind about the end results of this show: all of the girl's will end up with one covergirl shoot, no agency and with luck they'll be asked to star in Surreal Life.)

And I just wanted to include Brit's shot because it was gorgeous and Dionne shouldn't have stayed over her.

My New Muse

I think I've fallen in love. Well, not literally but I have found someone that i can classify as an "inspiration". In other words Selma Blair has totally caught my eye - in the fashion sense of course. I love her look and how she can rock a Marc Jacobs gingham print dress to five inch Balenciaga pumps. Here is my list of reason of why she stands out against our sea of Rachel Zoe clone (seriously Mischa, stop with the bib dresses!) 1. She's a CFDA/ Vogue dinner party regular. In other words she gets into the most exclusive fashion parties, whereas Paris Hilton is partying at your local night club.
2. She has the coolest friends! Case in point: she goes parties with Andre Leon Talley, rubs shoulders with Marc Jacobs and is on first name basis with Kristen , Ashley and Mischa.

3. She can rock any hairstyle from a bleached pixie cut to long brunette locks.

4. Her style is amazing. I love how Blair manages to pull of a gingham Marc Jacobs dress without looking like a hillbilly. Her flexibility in style is also great. Not a lot of people pulled off those Balenciaga heels but Selma manages to rock them. And not fall flat on her face.

5. She's joined the ranks of Kate Moss, Keira Knightley and Amber Valleta by posing for Chanel ( in her case - eyewear). Do I need to convince you guys anymore?

Grandma Would Be Proud

Skinny jeans, Louboutins, Prada turbans... honestly I've seen enough of these trends (well maybe not the louboutins) and I'm ready for something new. Frankly though, I'm not sure if this new set of trends is winning me over. Even though dear Marc included the look in both of his runway shows and one of my favourite I-don't-care-how-i-look celebs, Kristen Dunst, has jumped on the bandwagon, the grandma look is just not for me...

Yep, the grandma look. High waisted trousers, printed dresses, cardigans, wayfarers. It seems like everybody from Chloe Sevigny to Katie Holmes has been trying to rock their grandma's clothes. For some it comes naturally (can you really imagine Sevigny without her ray-bans?) and for some others not so much (Katie Holmes, you're not supposed to have grandma butt at 28).

So what designers have embraced the grandma look? The obvious: Chloe and Marc Jacobs. Though the spring Chloe collection is a thing of the past due to the mixed reaction of Chloe new head designer Paulo Melim Andersson, I couldnt help but think back to it when I saw new pictures of Kirsten Dunst (see below). The essentials (clogs, trousers and white blouses) are all there mixed in with a bit of seventies chic.
Marc Jacobs, on the other hand, went for a slightly kitschy and new wave look with his Marc Jacobs line and diffusion Marc by Marc line as well. I could go for some of his looks like the flannel dress and navy cardigan, but if you try any of these looks mix in some newer trendier pieces so your look isnt costume-y.

The queen of Grandma chic - Chloe sevigny. She's got everything! Raybans? - check. Cardigan? - check. Floral dress, flannel, umbrella? - check, check, check.
You'r probably wondering how you could translate these looks into night-time outfits. All you need is a poofy YSL skirt or a shift dress from Chloe. Oh, and dont forget the red lipstick.
An example of how not to wear this look: No one should go sans bra unless you are under 13 years of age...

Here are some essentials to start off your grandma wardrobe. If you buy it now you can reuse it in fifty years!

1. The Cardigan - Try one with bright colours and big buttons like the Marc Jacobs (left) and Chloe cardigans (right).

2. The Bay Bag - With its huge zippers and saggy leather I could picture this on anyone from myself to my grandma.
3. The Raybans - Trust me, this look will get tired quickly but have fun with it while it lasts

4. The Ruffled Dress - I'm pretty sure everyone over fifty has one of these. Wear your's to church or strolling down fifth avenue.

So what do you think? Personally I'll stick with my Louboutins and Marni dresses but I'm curious to see if you'd wear this look?

From Playboy to Vogue?

Noticably absent from the spring 2007 runways was top model Snejana Onopka, who sat out of the shows because of the recent 'skinny model' scandals. I think she may want to stay under the radar for a moment longer because a whole new scandal is going to throw her off her underfed feet. It seems as if our favourite skinny/sulky model was a bit desperate for money before she hit her Gucci ad campaign days. Desperate as in posing nude! Yep, that's right. Bryanboy.com has posted pictures of the model way before her Vogue Italia days.The racy pics are further proof that the model lost a lot of weight and isn't 49 kg naturally. But will these pictures make a difference in her career? Kate Moss was caught snorting cocaine and she shot back with countless campaigns. Some people say that her flagging career got a much needed boost from all the publicity. However, we all know Snejana is no Kate Moss so she may become a washout and never walk for Chanel or Prada again. Only time and the next runway season will tell...

The Seven Deadly Fashion Sins

Fashion is something I absolutely love and I can't remember the last time I missed an issue of Vogue or Teen Vogue. But lately my passion has been sqaundered by girls who have no clue about the industry and designers. Now I'm not trying to be snobby but it's quite discouraging when girls I know think that a Chanel 2.55 is on the same level as their Baby Phat purse. Or they've never heard of Anna Wintour and frequent their CosmoGirl mags for fashion tips. So I decided to compile a list to help you guys see the tackiest of tackiest and if these items ever cross you'r path be prepared to hold down your breakfast.

1. Juicy Couture Sweatsuits - What could be more classier than wearing lime green sweatpants with Juicy written on the butt in hot pink letters? Or try one of our heart printed hoodies worn by the ever stylish Paris Hilton. Please, please do NOT wear this line of clothing. If you do its style suicide.

2. The Logo Laden Bags - Its so common in New York that I don't bother even walking down Broadway or China town without extremely dark Chloe shades. Because it absolutely blinds me when I see a tourist wearing a cheap and trashy Vuitton that they picked up at a corner stand. What's even worse? The fake Vuittons without the LV's!

3. Cupcake Prom Dresses - Do not ever flip through a Seventeen Prom magazine on an empty stomach. I literally cringed at these monstrositys. Ruched tulle? Fake shiny satin? Feathers AND beads? I really have no idea who comes up with these. I don't know about you but I wouldn't want to look like I was exploding out of a cake on a night supposedly one step below my wedding!

4. The Label Whore - This only works if you'r a gold digging twenty year old after an eighty year old texan heir. Or a Nascar driver's wife. Or Paris Hilton. Toting along flashy bags that will eventually go out of style (or never come in style) like the Louis Vuitton Miroir bag along with an LV bikini and uber fake tan is never hot.

5. Anything and Everything Paris Hilton - Need I say more?

6. Too Many Trends - Wearing too much of something that is going to come out of style in the next six months is never in fashion. Take Nicole Richie circa 2003. Her daily wardrobe consisted of Uggs, streaked hair, and a candy coloured Louis Vuitton. Not so stylish now is it? Although I doubt it ever was...

7. Trends of The Past - Our world already has global warming and wars going on. Do we really need to bring back scrunchies, coloured leggings and embelished denim?

Remember people: Abide by these rules and you will never ever earn a spot on the best dressed list. Or a spot in fashion hell ...

The New Britney

Whoah sorry for the hiatus guys! I had tons and tons of work to do and I just never got the chance to get on the computer. Well it's what you've been waiting for ... I actually feel like it's the end of an era. Or rather three really well recieved posts... But anyway I'd like to thank all of you guys for voting. Sooo I read through all of your votes and comments and the winner (by a landslide) was ... MINIMALIST Britney. Not surprising actually because I figured you were tired of seeing her overly glam I-look-hot-while-I'm-really-not looks (i.e. cut off denim shorts, ratty extensions and a cheap tube of red lipstick). So without further adue - or however you spell that- I give you the simple yet chic and oh so refreshing minimalist Britney Spears.

It's bikini season soon and we all know that with Britney being a loving mom and the fact that she lives in Cali that she'll most likely be taking little Sean P. and his bro Jayden James to the beach. So dear Britney, throw out those too-tight teen bikinis and cover up with a flattering one-piece and stylish coat coverup from Marni. BUT, before you wear something quite so revealing (not that we haven't seen enough already) you should go back to your old ways. You'r touring concert ways. AKA the time when you did 1,000 situps a day - way before you started eating cheetos. Instead of wearing bright pink juciy couture velour suits -barf- you should go for a sporty look from Marni. Leggings and a graphic tee make you look a lot better if ,god forbid, you start sweating. And don't lug around your sweaty socks in a boring gym bag - carry the patent leather Marni balloon bag. Trust me: excercise is not hard at all when you look good.

When people think of Britney Spears circa. 2006-2007 the first things that pop into their minds are denim cutoffs, ratty blond hair, clown makeup and streetwalker dresses (borrowed from the ever classy Paris Hilton). With these simple looks from Stella McCartney and Yigal Azrouel. I loved the blazer and city short looks when I saw this and knew Britney would look great in the outfit, and the trendy leather jacket is edgy without being biker. Two looks from Phillip Lim equals a top spot on the best dressed.

If Britney goes on to make any more B-list movies (Crossroads anyone?) then of course there will be numerous film premieres. Hey, maybe she might even go to the Oscars! Ok I'm reaching too high. If there is any red carpet designer it is Ralph Lauren. His simplistic yet unbelievably sexy dresses like the slinky black dress above would look Amazing with straight hair a la Britney and a silver clutch.

How great would Britney look in this? I love this dress so much I'd buy it. Doesn't it scream fashion icon in the making?

My Very Own Britney Doll No.2 : The Clothes

So, the votes have come in and you ,the fashionably skilled and oh so great readers of my blog, have decided what is going to top the head of one of the world's most recognizable and infamous music icons. It was a close race with Cameron Diaz and Pop Star Britney head-to-head in the lead but in the end...drumroll please... the winner was POP STAR BRITNEY!

It seems as if most of you just want the girl to go back to her old glory days and I can't really blame you. But as you all know, her new haircut can't possibly go with those ratty tatty clothes of hers. So I combed all of my favourite spring shows in search of something new for this rehab star and this is what I came up with. I hope you ~~like~~ love this contest and I'm wating for those votes! So will it be:
1 Bombshell Britney - Expect slit up to there dresses by sexy designers Versace, Roberto Cavalli and Gucci. Warning - comes with permanent push up bra and overly glossed lips and smoky eyes! (That could be a good or bad thing - depends on how you interpret it)
2 Futuristic Britney - Do you want the most notorious pop star to shed her girly hues and demeanor for a sleek look that is one of springs top trends? This look includes patent leather, sky high heels, metallics and an overly straightened, extremely high ponytail.
3 Minimalist Britney - Will Britney bare all ( not actually but metaphorically ) and go for the simple yet striking look in Chloe's shift dresses, Marnis smocks and 3.1 Phillip Lims tank dresses?
4 Romantic Britney - Finally, last but not least (and my personal favourite) is romantic Britney. An extremely whimsy and hard to pull of look but judging by these pictures Britney pulls it off. Maybe this new romantic wardrobe will inspire her to find a new man. Preferably one that doesn't have aspiring dreams to be a rapper.

So, vote for the best and hope for the best. Remember: Britney Spears future is in you stylish well manicured hands. Well, at least her closet is.

My Very Own Britney Doll No. 1 : The Hair

Ok, I'm as much as a Britney Spears fan as the next person but I figured we could have some fun at her expense. So I'm opening a voting poll/dress-up game that let's you guys pick the best hair, best clothes etc. on our favourite pop star turned rehab mess. In other words, Britney has become seriously lacking in the grooming department and we need to give her a push in the right direction. Mainly towards Fifth Avenue and the Fredrick Fekkai hair salon for a new wig. Sooo, first up is the hair. Though our dear Britney only has stubble on her oddly shaped head we can hope that she takes our advice with these few hair styles I have come up with. The only rules are vote once.

New Season, New Look

So you may have noticed something different about the blog... I updated the header! And thank god for that; I was getting bored looking at all of those stuffy winter clothes. Hence the light and fresh appeal that I went for when I was creating the pictures on PSP. I picked outfits from shows that I thought were groundbreaking (Balenciaga), trendy (Marc by Marc Jacobs) and some that were just my personal favourites. Then to make it more creative I put the outfits in escapes around the world from Paris, NY and the Carribean Islands. To make it look more fashion-y I made the pictures look like polaroids I had taken with notes on which show it was.

So I hope you guys like the new look! Comments and suggestions would be greaty appreciated!

Clemence Poesy

The first word that comes to my head when I think of Clemence Poesy is chic, even though that's such an overused word. You probably only know her from the Harry Potter films but shes gaining a lot of recognition in the fashion world. Clemence was seen everywhere in the spring and fall shows from Chanel to Chloe. I love her feminine, quirky style and her ability to mix vintage with new. Plus she's absolutely gorgeous.

Street Style How cool are the red shorts, pumps and blue tuxedo shirt? See this is who we should name a style icon. Not anorexic Nicole or boozed up Lindsay.

Red Carpet Wear Clemence has such a parisian style even though that sounds completely corny. In other words she can wear any vintage dress and still look hot.

Front row chic at Chanel and Chloe. Even though I see thousands of tourists wearing those I ♥ New York shirts every day I'll consider wearing them now. Only for the irony factor.

Ashlee Simpson is the new Ashlee Olsen?

There was something about Ashlee Simpson this last year that I couldn't quite put my finger on. No it wasn't her "nose job", I'm not stupid and it's not the fact that I hate her. I realized after catching my daily dose of celebrity gossip at pinkisthenewblog.com that Miss. Ashlee Simpson (or should I say Olsen!!) is a bonafide copycat. And who else did Ashlee copy other than style icon to be and trendsetter Marykate Olsen. After perusing through many new pictures of Ashlee Simpson I realized that most of this change happened after her nose job. Either way she should really get a stylist. A little Rachel Zoe never hurt anyone.

Nobody can rock flannel like MK but I have to give my vote to Ashlee. The jacket is very cute and her hair does'nt look half bad as MK's.
This one goes to MK. I'd take Rayban's with seventies stripes over punk-pop stripes any day.

This one easily goes to Marykate. The grey skinnies, heels and oversized sweater work better with the red glasses. In other words, I hate hate hate Ashlee Simpson (sorry to her fans but anyone who claims that they are fine with themselves and then goes and gets a nose job (and denies it!) are losers in my book. And I don't even have a book...LOL!! Ashlee, you should really stick to your day job. Whatever that is.

See this is why there's a thing called dresses and showers. Ashlee looks so much better after shes taken a shower and when she wears sexy dresses like these. I feel like saying ta-da. I just did.

79th Annual Oscar Awards Fashion

Ok, you knew this post was coming, even though it came pretty late ... but I had to post about the most famous awards ceremony in the world and of course, the red carpet fashion this year. However dont expect to fall in love with too much of the dresses. They were oh so boring compared to dresses of years before but that doesnt mean we can't ogle at some of the nicer ones that probably cost about the combined profit of all of your houses combined.

Penelope Cruz in Atelier Versace

Hmm... peculiar... Doesn't Penelope Cruz dress seem oh so familiar, (well at least to me)? That's because just a year ago Miss Charlize Theron wore a fluffy John Galliano gown to the Oscars while Gwyneth Paltrow opted for a peach corseted Stella McCartney, which is the best dress in the world by the way. Very surprising that Pen (aha) showed up in a corseted fluffy peach dress! It is very pretty but I got bored of it after about ... 2.7 seconds.

Gwyneth Paltrow in Zac Posen and Nicole Kidman in Balenciaga

I call them the ice queens. Not because they seem mean but because they both look like never drink water out of a bottle, has never had a pimple (ew), doesn't know what a broom is type of people. Nonetheless they both looked gorgeous, as always. Nicole Kidman nailed it in a red Balenciaga that popped off of her skim while Gwyenth opted for Zac Posen. Wierd though; she doesn't strike me as a Zac Posen type of girl.

Emily Blunt in Calvin Klein, Portia de Rossi in Zac Posen and Jodie Foster in Vera Wang

I haven't seen Jodie Foster in millions of trillions of years (although who really cares?) but she looked absolutely amazing! Portia de Rossi reminded me of Ellen Pompeo from the Golden Globes but she still looks gorgeous, and Emily Blunt is blah.

Helen Mirren in Christian Lacroix

Um, Helen can you stop looking so good at like 60 years old. You'll kill of the old population because they will be jealous. Christian Lacroix made this absolutely beautiful custom made gown and it is seriously one of the most exciting ones in an otherwise boring Oscar red carpet.

Naomi Watts in Escada

I see no resemblance at all. At all...

Cate Blanchett in Armani Prive, Rachel Weisz in Vera Wang and Jennifer Hudson in Oscar de la Renta

Props to Jennifer for winning best supporting actress but no props for that hideous golden snake around her shoulders. Oh, I'm sorry its a jacket. And an ugly one at that. Andre Leon Talley I had high hopes for you after hearing you were styling Jennifer at the Oscars. You had me at the dress but lost me at the jacket. Duh. Moving on, Rachel Weisz looks a bit mismatching. The dress is not working for me. And I feel as if I've seen Cate's dress but it's not too bad.

Kate Winslet in Valentino Couture and Reese Witherspoon in Olivier Theyskiens for Nina Ricci

Reese Witherspoon, you should get married and divorced more often. Every single outfit I've seen you in post-Ryan (although he's a good accesory) looks amazing. And Olivier Theyskiens, I love you and your clothes are filling up my closet. Kate Winslet looked very pretty too although the dress is not as minty as it seems in this picture.

Barbie ♥ M.A.C.

She's already got closets filled with designer labels (Diane Von Furstenburg, Dooney and Burke and Badgley Mischka to name a few) so why not have her own makeup line? Two of my most favourite things in the world, Barbie and MAC makeup, have come together to create the limited edition Barbie Loves MAC line. The whole collection is very cute and playful and surprisingly its not extremely cheap and tacky ( I mean how could MAC be cheap and Barbie be tacky?) Growing up I used to play with my Barbie dolls and put on fashion shows. They'd all get made over- hair, face, clothes- the works. Now I can still admire my favourite toy and not look like a loser.

The line also comes with a limited edition Barbie doll (that my little sister managed to get my mom to buy for her) and it's already selling on Ebay for over 100 dollars. To me its one of the better Barbie dolls with smoky eyes, thigh high boots and pin straight hair. I'll probably get one for myself too.

49th Annual Grammy Awards Fashion

Sorry for the late post but I realized I could not miss out on Grammy fashion. It's one of the only awards show where you expect at least a couple of stars to dress in the most tacky and revealing dresses and not surprise people too much.

Beyonce looked decent enough in the whitem Armani Prive dress on the right. However I would like to see her try some less stuffier dresses and go for younger colours and shapes. The dress she wore in her performance was very hollywood glamour but still to prim and proper.

Surprisingly I really liked Carrie Underwoods dress ,left ,at the afterparty. Her hair was too Miss America but she pulls off the fifties look quite well. Scarlett Johannsen, right, wore Monique Lhuillier and she managed to make a bland dress look quite nice for the Grammys.

Christina Aguilera, whos tribute to James Brown was AMAZING, wore a white Emanuel Ungaro dress, right, and a black floor length gown to the press conference afterwards. I like the black dress a whole lot more than the white one but frankly the whole Hollywood glamour thing is getting old. Wouldnt you just love to see Christina in loose waves and not the whole makeup artists pallette smeared on her face?

Showing up in very shiny dresses were Hilary Duff ,far left, in D&G, Carrie Underwood, center, in Badgley Mischka, and Mary J. Blige, right, in Micheal Kors. I really like Hilary's dress but honestly the only person who can rock those waves is Shakira. Get your self some FrizEase and a hair straightener and your all set. Carrie Underwood looked so fresh and young in her Badgley Mischka dress but I thought that Mary J. Blige's Micheal Kors dress looked a bit tacky and cheap. It would have looked so much better without the belt.
Fergie and Pink both rocked the metallic look with Fergie in a short custom-made Badgley Mischka and Pink in vintage Herve Leger.

Was it just me or did Shakira's hair look especially unruly tonight? Wouldnt she look amazing in a loose updo? But hey, Shakiras not Shakira without the hair. My favourite singer of all time (well this moment) Corinne Bailey Rae didnt win the Best New Artist award but she did show up in a gorgeous strapless Giorgio Armani dress thats perfect for a cocktail party (and the Grammys).

Fall Winter 07 Roundup: No. 3

Lucky number three. And trust me, I loved each and every one of these shows (well almost, but you get the point). These shows had black infused with bright colours and of course the ever famous Marc Jacobs show.

Marc Jacobs

The epitome of cool. But this season Mr. Jacobs shedded the layers that had filled up his last shows for a fresh clean slate. And what do we get? Hats. hats and more hats and a collision of the 1920's and the river sienne in France. My verdict. Looks like someone ran out of ideas...

Bright yellows were mixed in with greys and monochrome colours.

3.1 Philip Lim

I always love Philip Lims shows and I am so against him not winning the CFDA award. However his recent loss didn't affect his fall/winter 07 show. It was daintily pretty and all of his basics were there: white rossettes, jackets and shapeless dresses ( the good shapeless kind).

I love the colour and texture of the gold dress at the end.
Tophats, suspenders and trench-coats? Oh my!
Red white and blue in pretty flirty dresses.
Phillip Lims girly basics were still there in cardigans, dresses and skirts.

Rodarte

Lauren and Karen Mulleavy are all about the details. All the clothes in their collection were pain-stakingly made with intricate patterns and fabrics.

Golds and browns were the main colour pallette
These two dresses are gorgeous! The colours and fabrics are so pretty and delicate.

Luella
Luella Bartley one of the famous London designers. Her clothes have a cool look to them thats based on Londons street style. This collection was filled with long trenches, bright colours, and mod dresses.

Diane Von Furstenburg
This collection was all about dresses done in dark blakcs with splashes of red and blues. Kind of surprising since this is a fall/winter collection.

The dress on the left is the perfect party dress!
I swear on my life I will be wearing this dresses in New York no matter how cold it gets in the fall

Erin Fetherstone

Nothing special. I mean its not like shes going to win a CFDA award anytime soon...

For some very strange reason all the models reminded me of silver pixies and fairies.

Is it just me or dont these designs look very much like other collections (Prada, Chanel and Balenciaga anyone?)

DKNY
Its for the city girl in all of us and also one of my main stops for shopping. I thought this collection was much better than some of their last ones and I loved the neon purple with the blacks and whites. One of my favourites no matter how basic the lable is.

Another idea for the evergrowing trend for fall winter hats. Slip on a beret for some parisian flair but dont take it too seriously because I've heard enough french accents in the Louis Vuitton stores.
Who would have actually thought that purple looked this good. Grapes and Barney are too under-appreciated

Fall Winter 07 Roundup: No. 2

On to more fashion shows and these new ones had a decidedly dark nerdy look with leather, coloured glasses, alligators and even a show inspired by Madeline, the famous childrens book heroine.

Karen Walker

She said she was inspired by female superheroes but after looking through her collection I thanked god that she didn't include superhero capes.

Karen Walkers signature brights, anoraks and graphic tees were still there
Mens suits and jackets got a lady-like twist with capped sleeves and graphic prints.
And how cool were the sunglasses?

Alice Roi

A runway show that was said to be based on Madeline, one of the coolest book characters in the world, should have been damn good. Instead it was more like a depressed suicidal Madeline. The pieces were good but didn't fit into the designers inspiration and theme. I mean, where the hell are the red trench coats and berets?

Fall Winter 07 Roundup: No. 1

It's that magical time of your again. Its fashion week and Cool Like Chloe has front seat coverage. My must-see shows of the season? Chloe (duh), Marc Jacobs and his baby Marc by Marc, and of course 3.1 Phillip Lim. Ahh, its like Christmas all over again!

BCBG Max Azria

One word when I saw this collection. Well actually two... city peasant. This line was designed with Sienna Miller and Kate Moss in mind and the knits, peasant dresses and layered frocks certainly put those two startlets in mind. The collection was quite likeable, in my opinion, and didnt have a shortage of pretty dresses.

Two layered looks which I'm sure will all be on the streets of New York. The dress on the right is especially pretty.

Deep purples, velvet and fur were also seen on the runway.

Crochet was also seen but don't get out your grandmas yarn basket yet. This look could easily become one of the most loved or hated items of fall.

Rag & Bone
Taking a completely different approach to the fall runway, Rag & Bone (widely known for their gorgeous denim) put out a womans wear line (with a few men's pieces) that focused mainly on the military look. Not a lot of new material but some very nice basic pieces.

Dark browns and stone were the main colour scheme and well made tailored pieces, like the knee length trench (center) are sure to be staples this fall.

Military jackets and navy were seen mixed in with mens pieces such as grey oversized sweaters. cardigans and newsboy caps yet the look was still feminine.

Nicole Miller

A long time part of the fashion crowd this Nicole Miller line had winter basics with a south-of-the-border twist. Her inspiration was the country of Peru and folksy patterns mixed and prints had a modern edge paired with grey trousers and pencil skirts.

Folksy, graphic prints were the main focus of the Nicole Miller collection

Winter basics like fur and caps were given new looks with colour and Peruvian accents I felt that the dresses were more fit for a spring collection than fall but nonetheless they were quite pretty.

Trend Alert: Opaque tights (as seen in the Rag & Bone and BCBG Max Azria shows) are sure to be the next skinnies. Get a head start on this trend by pairing coloured tights with shorts or dresses.

Mischa Barton for Keds

As many of you know Mischa Barton, my style icon, is the spokesperson and model for Keds. The new spring ads have been released and I absolutely love them. The pictures are so fresh and flirty and I have to credit the stylist for creating beautiful looks with the sundresses and shorts. I only used to wear Keds on my dad's boats during the summer but know I have seriously reconsidered these shoes.

I love Mischa's hair and dress in this pic.

Lawn games have never looked so good.

SAG Awards 2007

For one final awards show before the best of them all (ahem ahem Oscars) the stars showed up in their finest clothes and borrowed jewels to wow paparrazzi and fashion critics. The big trends this time around? Pale creams, whites, jewel tones and bursts of much needed colour. Oh and the designer who reigned supreme over all of the dresses? Armani, of course.

Reese Witherspoon - I'll start off with the best dress of the night (in my opinion). I love Olivier Theyskiens work for Nina Ricci. Since the closing of the parisian house of Rochas I have missed his elegant and unmistakeable work. I am so glad hes working for another lable and so jealous that Reese has somewhere to wear her dresses.

Two Greys Anatomys stars showed up with gorgeous colourful dresses that reminded us springs only a couple months away. Katherine Heigel wore a red dress and I loved the draping and neckline. She also had gorgeous hair which was very 50's glamour. Kate Walsh showed up in a lemon coloured gown. I like the draping but I'm not too sure of the material. Doesn't it remind you of Michelle Williams Oscar dress last year with the colour and red lips?

Nicollette Sheridan and Cate Blanchett both wore metallic gowns. Nicollette's is quite pretty with the silver detail and champagne colour. The outfit eve looks like something her Desperate Housewives alter ego "Edie" would wear. After wearing that god-awful dress at the Golden Globes I think Cate finally got a bit of her style back at the SAG's with a Giorgio Armani dress. It's simple but the fabric adds something more.

I miss Heather Graham. She hasn't been in a lot of movies lately which is a shame because shes quite pretty and talented. She wore a very pretty vintage Oscar de la Renta dress which showed off her toned body. I love the colour and ruffles. Sandra Oh looked absolutely gorgeous in Armani. Every time I see a picture of her I always wonder why Mr. Blackwell put her on his worst dressed list. Goes to show that grumpy old men dont really know everything.

Jamie Lynn Sigler is famous for her role as Meadow in the Sopranos. The white dress she wore was just right forher shape and hair colour. Simple but it stood out. I'm on the fence with Rachel McAdam. I thought her dress was cute but it seemed a bit casual for the SAG's. Her pink hair? Well I'll let you decide about that.

Terri Hatcher finally layed off see through dresses and came through with a b-e-a-utiful Armani dress. See Armani can work wonders on everybody (except Paris Hilton that is - she's too damaged). Eva Longoria wore an everest green Vera Wang dress that was so-so but I hate her makeup! Lay off the white eyeshadow please!

Finishing off our round of SAG style we have America Ferrera (who won the best actress in a comedy series - again!) in an emerald Badgley Mischka dress although I think I like her purple Brian Reyes dress at the Golden Globes more. Her makeup however, is stunning. Ellen Pompeo, not backing away from the hairstyle she wore to the Golden Globes chose a purple Lanvin dress that was on par with the futuristic Versace dress at the GG's. Most people hated it. Me? Love it. She takes risks with her style and always looks great.

Haute Couture Spring 2007 No. 2

The final installment of haute couture (although a bit late). So soak in all of these dresses because you wont get to see designers at their best or worst for another couple of months.

Givenchy

My absolute favourite show of the couture show. Obviously Audrey Hepburn was a style icon. The only designer she ever wore was Givenchy. I loved the somber pallette of the show mixed in with quirky colours like the gorgeous yellow.

The black dress on the left was my favourite of the show. Its so sleek and dark and if I was an actress at the Oscars this would definetly be my first pick. The dress on the right has a really pretty colour and the tailored coat is so interesting. I love love love the dress on the left. The colour is perfect. Its not too yellow or pale or bright. Who knew Irina Lazarneau could pull of lemon yellow?

The tailoring at this show was spectacular. I loved the incorporation of flowers into a dark grey and the skirts are so interesting.

Jean Paul Gautier

Nothing special in this show. I just wasn't into the whole saint thing. Hasn't it been done hundreds of times before?

Christian Lacroix

For some odd reason I really liked Lacroixs show. I thought that the mixture of florals and blacks was quite pretty. The colour pallette was just right for spring.

These two looks reminded me a lot of Chanel. And I really like the two headpieces. I like the nude coloured dress on the right and I would have loved the black one on the left too if it wasnt for the tier in the middle. I want the dress on the right so much! Its feminine and flirty but still has a bit of edge to it.

Chanel

Chanel can do no wrong. Right? Well this collection was definetly not on par with the usual Chanel beauty and glamour. The show had a very 40's flapper glamour to it but it just wasn't my taste.

The classic Chanel suit on the left. It was really cute and I could picture Mischa Barton wearing it with jeans, a white tank top and Chanel purse. However the outfit on the right is hideous. It actually reminds me of something a Playboy bunny would wear.

More suit inspired clothes here. I just dont like it.

The dresses were very sparkly and had lots of detail with feathers. I really like the colour of the dress to the right.

Armani
This season Armani had a very sleek and silver look to his show. The outfits were old-fashioned but still looked a bit futuristic. I really like the cute dress on the right. It would be a really pretty party dress.
Once again the dress on the right is so pretty. The fabric has such a nice sheen to it and the colour would look so nice against anyone with platinum blond hair or really dark brunette colour.

My perfect wedding dress. I cant stop oohing and ahhing over this gown.I love the way the material just flows around the model and the sliver lining around the neck is so pretty. Now if only David Beckham would divorce Victoria and get on one knee.

With new spring collections comes new bags to drool over. Below is a bag that is definetly going to be on my arms and on wait lists that are a couple miles long. Already seen on the arms of Lindsay Lohan, Kylie Minouge and Keira Knightley, the Chloe Bay bag is quickly becoming somewhat of a celebrity itself. Now I am not going to buy this bag because the said starlets above have it. Rather because it reminds be of the bags of the seventies with its cool boxy shape and golden touches. Besides, wouldn't it look so cute on any spring dress?

The Devil Wears Prada: No. 2

This post on the Devil Wears Prada style is all about colour. From the green jacket, to the golden shoes and white gloves the whole outfit is creative and trendy without bordering on the edge of tacky. I thought this next look was really creative and unigue. All you need is one gorgeous staple item in your outfit and you're set. I adore the Dolce and Gabbanna coat; the fit is so great and I dont know about you but I love the emerald green colour. Another personal favourite of mine , in this outfit, are the shoes from Topshop. I love the gold colour and the pointy toe. You can dress them down with great jeans from Rock and Republic or dress them up with a flirty Alice Temperley dress.

Spring 2007 Haute Couture No. 1

Couture; the heart of fashion and the one place in which designers can let their imaginations go free without anyone worrying if they're truly crazy. This seasons couture shows were highly anticipated by me, myself and I (and thousands of others, I'm sure). So to give you you'r daily dose of the best of the best here are the first shows to start of couture week. P.S. To warn you beforehand - sorry about my constant mutterings of the words wow, gorgeous and wow. I need a thesauras.

Valentino

I wasn't as impressed with Valentino's spring couture show as I thought I would be. To me it was just a carry one of his spring show, from the tiered dresses, to the colours (pink, cream and yellow) to the hairstyles. It was quite pretty but I thought it looked more ready-to-wear than haute couture.

These two dresses were my absolute favourites of the show. I loved the delicate slip on the right and for some reason (maybe the fact that this dress costs a couple hundred thousand dollars) the dress on the right really stood out, and I adore the capelet along with it.

These two dresses were gorgeous and I can totally picture the one on the right on a celebrity during the Oscars.

Elie Saab

Saab said he was inspired by the sunset over Lebanon and used colours such as midnight blue, violet and pale pink. Gorgeous dresses and considering his client list, every A-list actress will be wearing one. NOTE: Beyonce do not touch. That Golden Globe dress was hideous

Christian Dior

In my opinion the house of haute couture. John Galliano has such an amazing vision. This season he was clearly inspired by Japan and the art of origami. The craftmanship is unbelievable and every single dress must have taken too much time to comprehend. Prepare to be awed.

Fuschia pink revived old Dior outfits and gave new life to waist-cinching coats (a Dior classic) and pencil skirts.

The feathers on the dress on the right were so intricate and creative and I fell in love with the colour pallette.

Memoirs of a Geisha was the first thing I thought of when I saw these dresses. Dior made classic Japanese dresses so chic and sexy. The draping and colours were amazing and so well executed.

Wow. I honestly can't stop gaping at these pictures. This is a true example of why we still have haute couture.

A haute couture surprise. Famed model Shalom Harlow walked out at the end of the show in what can only be described as a masterpiece. The shape of the dress, and the way it look so much like art (origami to be exact) is unbelievable. The beading and design are .... wow I think this is the only time I've ever been speechless.

Sorry guys, for some reason my post posted even though I said save draft and I didnt notice until later. Argh!

Since I was nominated to tell you guys five things you dont know about me, I will. Partially because I'm such a nice person and partially because I feel I could die of boredom (even though I'm supposed to be studying. So here it is...

1. I am the absolute worst cook in the world. I even burnt water once. (Dont ask)

2. I once dumped cake (by accident) into Diane Von Furstenburg's lap. It was at my mom's dinner party when I was about six years old. And it was completely by accident.

3. I've broken my left arm about three times. Once snowboarding, and twice at skating practice.

4. I own about 230 pairs of shoes. ( I swear its the truth!)

5. I usually never finish these list , which is why I've kinda cheated on this fifth one :)

46th Golden Globes Awards

The Golden Globes mark the start of the red carpet award season, and its certainly off to a good start. There were so many different looks at this years Golden Globes but it looks like white and bright colour such as yellow and red were quite popular. Below are some of my favourite looks and people that are worth posting on.

Reese Witherspoon - Everthing about this outift and how Reese looked can only be described by the word "cute". I loved the canary yellow Nina Ricci dress and the bright red pumps completed the look. Her hair was gorgeous as well. Ryan Phillipe sure is a retard.

Cameron Diaz - I dont know why but I though Cameron looked fine in her Valentino dress. Shes so tall and fit that she could pull it off. Plus when every girl is wearing her hundreth Chanel dress and Miu Miu pumps I thought it was great that she took a fashion risk.

Rachel Weisz - I absolutely adored Rachels look. The rich tone of her red dress paired with her dark brown hair was stunning.

Ali Larter - People think she's a relatively new face but Ali's been around the entertainment business for quite a while. She exploded on the scene with the hit show Heroes and she obviously didnt let the fame get to her fashion sense. She actually picked out this dress a couple of hours before the show and she still manages to look great!

Evangeline Lilly - I feel kinda sorry for her. I doubt a lot of people watch Lost anymore and she probably showed up at the Globes to remind people that its still there... I dont reallly think I like her dress. Though the bottom is pretty nice I can't quite get myself to like the yellow at the top of her Versace dress.

Sandra Oh - What worst dressed list? From the looks of her gorgeous silver and grey dress, which I think looks gorgeous on her, Mr.Blackwell made a mistake. I really like her makeup too. which suits her complexion quite nicely.

Sienna Miller - Its who you've finally been waiting for, and probably the only reason you read this far on the list. Sienna showed up in a white gown with gold leafing pattern on top. Not her best look but not her worst. Oh and Sienna? The only time you can (and should) wear those braids is when your milking a cow. And I doubt there are any cows at the Golden Globes.

America Ferrera - Shes so cute and adorable, and shes the perfect example of a curvy beautiful woman (no Beyonce not you). She looked fresh yet sultry in her custom made Brian Reyes dress

Drew Barrymore - I didnt think that Drews dress was anything special but it was quite pretty. The draping and colour really suited her and the dress looked very goddes like. Plus, shes one of my favourite comedic actresses.

Ellen Pompeo - Ellen wore a white Versace dress that was really modern and sleek. I really like it on her although I wish she'd eat something (and laxatives do not count).

Sarah Jessica Parker - The queen of style. I mean, what kind of red carpet event would it be without her? I really liked her dress, it was unique and the light brocade is gorgeous. Carrie Bradshaw would probably own something like this, now that I think of it.

Mr. Blackwell's 47th annual "Worst Dressed" list

2006 was a year of fashion highs but unfortunately a year of fashion lows as well. Mr.Blackwell, fashion critic of Tinseltown stars has yet again compiled a worst dressed list. And surprise, surprise. Guess who's first?

No 1. Britney Spears and Paris Hilton "Two Peas in an Overexposed Pod"

Not a surprise at all. I really wished and hoped that Britney would finally clean up her act and become the famous bubbly pop star she was before. And she was... for about five seconds. Then the non-stop partying and hanging out with Paris Hilton started and it all started going down hill from there. The girl has absolutley no style. Shes all trash and no class.

Paris Hilton: Karl Lagerfield once said that he would never treat the girl in a fashion makeover case. "I couldn't do anything with her," he said. "I'd just give her fashion magazines and tell her to read." (although I'm not sure if she can read..) Nevertheless, I agree. Sweats, oversized white shades and too tight tees are her fashion uniform. That and a trashy and flashy dress. She can make good fashion choices once in a while but most of the time, she's a walking example of tired trends.

No 3. Lindsay Lohan "Adorable to deplorable"

I have no idea what Lindsay Lohan is doing on this list. Of all lists she should be on the best dressed ones. Ok, she has made fashion choices that verge on the edge of lets say "risque" but she has a wardrobe that everyone envies and every single item hot off of the runway

No 5. Mariah Carey "Mariah, the fashion pariah."

No objection at all. If it wasnt for Paris and Britney then she would probably be number one. Style is not even in her vocabulary. Shorts shorts, fake boobs and flashy clothes do not a fashion star make.

No 6. Paula Abdul " Fallen fashion idol."

No. 9 Sandra Oh

Everybody bashed her for pairing a gorgeous Vera Wang dress with Run DMC styled necklaces but in my opinion, it wasnt that bad. I applaud her for her risk in style choices and most of the time she looks good in what she wears. I can see where people consider her worst dressed but int my opinion there are other celebs with hideous style that should have replaced her on the list. (Kimberley Stewart anyone?- though I doubt she should be considered a celebrity

This is one of my favourite movies right now and if you get the chance to read the book, then read it! Patricia Field, the creative mind behind Sex and The City fashion, was the wardrobe stylist for this movie and trust me, no one was dissapointed. I loved the sexy work woman look that was so strong yet completely feminine. And the shoes? I'm saving space in my closet for each and every one of them. Not only was the fashion great but who could forget Meryl Streep's performance, and better yet, Emily Blunt was fantastic as the cold and scathing assistant. Below is one of many cute looks from the movie (worn by Anne Hathaway as Andy Sachs) and a the items that will help you get the look

This year has definetly been a busy one in terms of fashion. Last years boho crazy styles were thrown away, and instead skinny jeans, Louboutins and labels such as Chloe and 3.1 Phillip Lim were favoured. Everyone strived to find their own "original" style but yet were still influenced by fashion greats, Kate Moss and Sienna Miller (to name a few). So to honour this years greats I came up with the "Best Of's". Make sure you have extra time on your hands because this is going to be a long post!

Best Of: Gowns

Michelle Williams made a splash at the Oscars in this gorgeous dress. The colour of the dress, the shape, her red lips... everything was perfect. And completely unexpected. Lets not leave out Reese Witherspoon, who took home the Oscar for Best Actress and probably Best Dress. I fell in love with this gown the moment I saw it. The intricate details, and light champagne colour spurred many knockoffs that year. However, my award for best colour and draping goes to Salma Hayek for the gorgeous sea blue colour she chose. I loved her Prada dress last year and at the 2006 Oscars she obviously didnt dissapoint.

Keira Knightley was definetely crowned as one of London's it girls this year and because of her great style I loved the Oscar dress she wore. The deep colour and texture of the dress was amazing. I also gained some respect for Natalie Portman and her style choices after seeing her in a black Chanel dress at the Golden Globes. It was a refreshing take on 50's glamour, and worked so well with her pixie cut. (P.S. Natalie Portman and Michelle Williams have the same stylist. She was in charge of both of these girls "Best of 2006" gowns.) Disregarding Lindsay Lohan's infamous boozing and partying I fell in love with the dress she wore to the Bobby premiere at Cannes. It was such a gorgeous shape and the silver crisscross made the dress perfect.

Best of 2006: Style Stars

1. Lindsay Lohan

I have to admit, although I dont applaud her behaviour I always happen to fall in love with her style choices. She owns a million outfits and I can always draw inspirations from her day or night outfits.

2. Nicole Richie

I beg you to not take any dieting tips from her but make sure you take some styling tips. Nicole Richie was made into a star with the help of stylist Rachel Zoe (god, i hate that zombie), but now that shes fired her style consultant will she be able to keep up her appearance?

- Oversized Bug shades

- Flowy seventies dresses

- Headbands

- Anorexic figure

3. Rachel Bilson

Probably one of my favourite style stars. She always looks so cute in any of her outfits and i want everyone of her dresses. What I love about her, and what everyone loves about her, is that she can throw together an outfit without even thinking about it and she still ends up on everyones best-dressed list.

- Zac Posen dresses
- bright jackets and prints
- headbands
- Ex boy toy Adam Brody

4. Kate Moss

Kate has made one of the strongest comebacks ever. After bouncing back from a cocaine scandal, the British model landed huge campaign ads ranging from Dior to Burberry. She started the basis for huge trends this year such as flats, skinny jeans and oversized bags.

Style Must Haves:
- Ballet flats
- skinny jeans
- Straight-out-of-bed hair
- Boy toy and fiancee Pete Doherty

5. Sienna Miller
With her upcoming role in the Edie Sedgwick biopic and her famed romance with Jude Law, Sienna has become the target of tabloid fodder. More importantly shes also on Vogues best dressed list. Her pixie cut and flamboyant yet chic style have people copying her every move. And outfit.

- uncombed hair (she doesnt own a brush!)

6. Mary- Kate Olsen

The boho-chic half of the two Olsen twins. Mary-kate has become to be known as a layering queen and although this stars style has been questioned you cant deny that everything shes worn has been the inspiration for most designers (i.e. Marc Jacobs anyone?)

7. Ashley Olsen

The second half of our famous twins has a self described "androgynous" look. That and shes also the classic twin. And because of this I like to take more style cues from Ashley.

Best of 2006: Models

1. Irina Lazarneau

The wild child of fashion she is Karl Lagerfields muse and Kate Moss' long-time friend. She was a drummer for the Babyshambles and even hopes to start her own band. Her fringe and rocker style set her apart from the other models this year.

2. Iekeliene Stange

Many describe her looks as being alien like, but theres no doubt that this ethereal model walked hundreds of runway shows, covered countless magazines and ad campaigns. Plus she has style that you have to brand as original! (Check for an upcoming post on her fashion sense)

3. Agyness Dean

Her bleached blond hair and boyishly good look mad this relatively new model famous overnight. The only thing I cant stand? The way she talks...

4. Sasha Pivarova

Many claim that the girl has no fat on her body but that didnt stop her from snatching up Prada's ad campaigns. Surprisingly her hollowed eyes werent too prominent in the shoots.

5. Snejana Onopka

My personal favourite. I just think shes so cute and I love every outfit I see her in backstage at fashion shows. Plus I think shes the only model who can half smile.

Best Of 2006: Trends

This year was one of my favourites for fashion but now that I think about it, I say that every year. Original, vintage style reigned supreme and instead of the average AE tees and distressed jeans, girls started to become more confident in their fashion sense and discovered a whole new outlook on fashion.

2. Marie Antoinette

I love Sofia Coppolas work and any movie with Kirsten Dunst, I'm in. Although this film got booed at the Cannes film festival I still thought it was absolutely beautiful. From the set design to the costumes it was definetely a treat for the eyes.

Fall 2006: Layering 101

A key trend this fall is layering. Its not only a great way to keep up the fashion world but its also a great way to incorporate your summer wardrobe into your winter one. And even better, you'll be more fashionable than anyone else and you wont freeze your butt off.

Marc by Marc Jacobs, Mui Mui, United Bamboo

Use those summer dresses that are still hanging in your closet. Try finding an inky blue or black dress, like in the Marc by Marc Jacobs show, to follow the dark and brooding trend that has been shown on the fall runway shows. To avoid freezing, layer your dress over a sweater or t-shirt, as in the Mui Mui and United Bamboo shows. Finsih your look with a warm oversized cardigan and scarf.

Max Azria, Marc Jacobs, Marni

Structured jackets with textured fabrics and simpled details should be one item thats taking up room in your closet. Try short jackets as shown in the Louis Vuitton and Marni shows, or a charcoal grey one like my favourite one from the Maz Azria show.

When it comes to layering, dont be afraid. Mix prints , like this seasons popular leopard print, with greys and browns. Pile on your clothing and make your look complete by adding scarves, hats and cardigans. Try adding a structured bag, instead of a slouchy hobo one. This will refine your look and wont make you look like a bag lady.

The leather jacket is not just for Danny Zucco anymore. Many celebs have been spotted sporting the luxe garment around Tinseltown and the trend is quiclky catching on. It easily gives any outfit a rock-and-roll edge. I'd wear mine with a YSL silk shirt under with my David Yurman gold necklaces, skinny jeans and pumps. Or if your really hardcore, try a band tee.

Spring Has Crayola on its Mind

The 2007 spring season had polar opposites on runways around the world. It was either chiffon and flowy fabrics in white, cream, beige and lilac like in Alberta Ferreti, or shocking bright colours on a black or grey background. Runway shows such as Diane Von Furstenburg incorporated oranges and pinks with whites while Chloe had a seventies chic look to their line. In case you cant handle all of the colour take a brightly coloured silk top and pair it with navy skinny jeans and your all set for spring. Not that? Then go with a scarf a la Missoni.

It's Miller Time!

With any starring role in a movie thats getting all the buzz comes many magazine covers. It wasnt a big surprise that Sienna Miller would grace the front cover of many fashion magazine and tabloid covers. After all she iss starring in the Edie Sedgwick biopic Factory girl and she is considered to be one of the leading it girls in todays fashion world. Below are her most recent covers, January 2007's W and British Harpers Bazaar.

I think this magazine is pretty and serene yet its still fierce with the gorgeous Christian Louboutin shoes, Agent Provacateur lingerie and plum lips Miller is sporting. Not a lot of wow factor but I could definetly make some room on my shelf for this issue of W.

I thought that this spread had a very rock and roll edge to it but still managed to be quite pretty with all of the silver and gold. The dresses look quite futuristic but Im not sure I would wear most of them. I really like Siennas makeup and hair too. (PS. Who knew she had star tattoos on her shoulder?)

Ok, I know; corny title but what else can you say. With the cold winter season comes the flu, freezing fingers, and red noses. But luckily so do boots. Winter boots to be exact. Now I know that Kate Hudson and Sienna Miller are walking through L.A., and L.A. in the wintertime is not particularly freezing. But who can resist not walking down Fifth Avenue in these gorgeous boots? Besides 84% of people judge you based on your looks and why not start with your shoes? I know I'm saving them for my Paul and Joe skinny jeans and oversized grey Stella McCartney sweater!

Teen Vogue Has Just Made My Holidays

This magazine never ceases to amaze me and their new marketing strategy this Christmas season was way too cool. They two magazine feature the same articles inside but different covers one with the classic twin and one with the free spirit Ashley and Marykate, respectively. I love both covers and I really miss Ashleys blond hair. So what do you think about the shoots and which one is your favourite?

Lilly Allen: Chav in Chanel?

The latest rumour to spread in the fashion world has to do with Chanel, and surprisingly Brit singer Lilly Allen. Reputed to be the next big thing Lilly Allen exploded on the music scene with hits such as Smile and LDN and is now said to be the new face of Chanel. Karl Lagerfield supposedly thinks that the singers style, a mix of bright girly dresses, gold hoop earrings and nike trainers, is going to be "it" in 2007.

Now is this rumour just that? A rumour? Either way it makes for interesting gossip...

I came up with a little idea that I thought would be pretty cool. Every once in a while I will post a makeup look from the runway shows and tell you how to re-create it. Its a bit of an expansion on my fashion blog and I hope you like it!

This mettalic look is from Chanel Spring 2006. It might be a little risque for day but it would look great and really unique on a night out.

Face:

For clear and even skin use a loose face powder like Clinique Gentle Light Powder and brush. Brush the powder over your face focusing on the t-zone area.

To get that smudged yet sleek look use an eye shimmer like Stila All Over Shimmer Eyes in gold and white. Line your top eyelids with the gold for a warmer look and press the silver shadow on the bottom of your eyes with a brush.

Chanel Spring 2006 was definetly a refreshing take on the french fashion house. Karl Lagerfield breathed a bit of life in the collection and came out with a white, gold and black colour pallete and outfits resembling 1950's swimsuits (in a good way). My favourite? It has to be the LBD's (little black dresses). I know what I'm wearing to prom this year!

Her outfits were a more toned down version of last seasons show and all the models were outfitted with blonde wigs. Recently I found out about an incredible clothing line from the United Kingdom. I can honestly say that I love the entire fashion line and all of their clothes. The runway shots really impressed me and I love the cream coats and shifty dresses included in the collection. I loved almost all of the looks so I put on more than enough pictures.
